Nutritional Dental Theory: Cavity Healing Mouthwash Formula – Does it Really Work?

Warning: Always consult a qualified health care provider and nutritionist to help you evaluate different formulas and alternatives to traditional dental methods. Although some methods work well for some people, they may not be suitable or applicable to your dental problem or your specific life style. There are numerous environmental and physical conditions that effect tooth decay, oral health and efficacy of treatments. Among them are diet, water, general physical health, exercise, methodology and application of dental treatment, and even air quality.

Through my own experiences I have found out that a mixture of natural minerals is one of the best ways to stop the pain and progress of cavities. It works even better when supplemented with a well-balanced diet (Omega-3 and Omega-Balanced), and a reduction or "elimination" of sugar products and soft drinks.

The very low-cost formula I use for stopping the pain and progress of cavities is as follows

Crush and Mix
3   Tablets: Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc Supplement (CVS)
2 Tablets: Silica (Whole Foods)
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
½ Teaspoon: Cinnamon

Once the mixture is made, I rinse with it anywhere between three and five times a day for 3 to 10 minutes. The amount of time I spend rinsing often depends on how persistent the pain is. Rinse more often and longer if the pain persists. As well, rinse longer and more often if your diet is rich in sugary foods.

To supplement the healing effect, I drink San Pellegrino mineral water as well as rinse with.

The Future of Alternative Dentistry

Alternative dentistry, just like alternative medicine, is expected to become a viable alternative to traditional dentistry. In the coming 5 years, one can expect that drills, fillings and traditional mouthwashes become a thing of the past. As well, fluoride for all its reported benefits is expected to become out of favor.

Alternative dentistry is in many ways could be considered a branch of preventive dentistry. Traditional preventive oral care habits such as flossing, brushing after meals, rinsing with mouthwash and using sonic toothbrushes and having your teeth cleaned on a regular basis are considered key to preventing cavities and other problems such as gingivitis and periodontal diseases.

Theory of Alternative Dentistry

Alternative dentistry goes one step further than preventive dentistry. It subscribes to the theory that tooth strengthening and remineralization as well as gum tissue repair is best facilitated when minerals, nutrients and bacteria preventive herbs and spices are rinsed with in liquid form on a regular basis.
